Ryan’s medical training started in August of 2003, when he and his wife brought home their first child with unexpected medical needs. As life unfolded and opportunity arose, his experiences with his son led him to desire retraining into a nursing career and he moved forward with this in his 30s.
After obtaining his BSN from Washington State University and passing boards, Ryan went to work gaining valuable experience on the Cardiac floor of the local hospital. As his tenure progressed, he went on to work in the CCU and then eventually split shifts between the CCU and Emergency Department.
Seeing the need for primary care in the Yakima Valley, Ryan chose to return to further his education at Gonzaga University, where he earned his Master of Science in Nursing and upon successful completion of his national boards, was awarded licensure and a Family Nurse Practitioner.
He spent the next few years obtaining broad experience in both primary care and substance use disorder. He was key in the growth of Ideal Option PLLC from a regional start up to a national leader in Office Based Addiction Medicine.
Beginning in 2019, Ryan also joined the team at Total Care Clinics in Tri-Cities, WA as a Primary Care Provider. This included providing aesthetic services around Washington both in clinic and at private events as well as telehealth services that allowed him to build a patient base in and around the Yakima Valley. In early 2023, Ryan transitioned from addiction medicine to focus solely on primary care and aesthetics which included an office location in Yakima.
